About.

There is no love more sincere than the love of food.

Nestled in the historic village of Greve-in-Chianti, Casa Ceccatelli is a family affair. Five generations of Tuscans have continued to preserve the food heritage of this Italian region providing gourmet products since 1890. Today, you will find Paolo Fagotti behind the ‘bottega’ counter passionately serving quality food items using free range and organic produce, working with local farming families to source the best quality ingredients throughout Italy, creating handmade products using authentic family recipes and artisan traditions. Food made with passion, from farm to shelf.

Having inherited his family’s love for the region and its cuisine from mother Gabriella Ceccatelli, who owned and ran Casa Ceccatelli after her father, Mario Ceccatelli and grandfather, Domenico (Mario’s father) for 65 years, Paolo’s early memories are of being surrounded by food, family and the community Casa Ceccatelli created. Today, this community continues with the next generation and focuses on non-GMO, organic family methods, traditional artisan food techniques, and avoiding additives, colors, and preservatives. In store, you will find a wide selection of slowly cured meats and cold cuts, fresh organic pasta sauces, organic condiments, prized organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and aged organic balsamic vinegar from Modena.

Paolo travels across the country to find the best chili from Calabria, mountain reared meats from the hills between Florence and Arezzo and pure organic salt from the mines near the medieval town of Volterra, to work with the best producers in the Italian gourmet food market. Casa Ceccatelli prides itself on quality and community having always had deep, and very connected, Tuscan roots which continues on today.

Authentically Italian, the Fagotti family’s passion for Tuscany goes beyond food – it’s for every element of la dolce vita, “the sweet life.” Tenuta Ceccatelli is a fully refurbished 17-Century estate located in Castellina in Chianti, offering dream worthy accommodation for an Italian country escape surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and cypress tree-lined roads; this area of Tuscany is renowned for its exceptional food, world-class wineries, rustic charm and magically natural landscape. A passion restoration project now complete, Tenuta Ceccatelli is available to hire for your Italian stay when next in Tuscany.
